Starting today, Morning Café looks different. After almost two years, we have redrawn the scene from scratch.
The original café was the very first scene we ever made, back when amayoru was an experiment between friends. It did its job well, but it was small, a bit dark, and the coffee cup was, as one listener put it, "suspiciously rectangular".
What is new
- Big windows across the whole wall, with a street and trees outside.
- Three hanging lamps, and sunbeams that slowly brighten and fade.
- Dust drifting in the light, birds crossing the sky now and then.
- A regular at the window counter with her headphones on. We do not know her name yet. Suggestions are welcome.
- A proper coffee cup with latte art and real steam.
Same music, same mood
The playlist has not changed: warm keys, brushed drums and gentle grooves. Mame is still your host, and the good-morning messages still arrive from every time zone.
A note on Valentine's Day
The new scene goes live on 14 February, which was not planned, but we will take it. If you are spending the morning alone with a coffee, you are in good company. Thousands of people are doing exactly the same thing with us.
今日から、モーニング・カフェの見た目が変わります。2年近くたって、シーンを一から描き直しました。
もとのカフェは、amayoruが友だち同士の実験だったころに作った、いちばん最初のシーンです。役目はしっかり果たしてくれましたが、小さくて少し暗く、あるリスナーの言葉を借りれば、コーヒーカップが「あやしいほど四角かった」のです。
新しくなったところ
- 壁いっぱいの大きな窓。外には通りと木々。
- 三つの吊りランプと、ゆっくり明るくなったり薄れたりする日差し。
- 光のなかを漂うほこりと、ときどき空を横切る鳥たち。
- 窓際のカウンターには、ヘッドホンをした常連さん。まだ名前はわかりません。名前の案、募集中です。
- ラテアートと本物の湯気のある、ちゃんとしたコーヒーカップ。
音楽と雰囲気はそのまま
プレイリストは変わりません。あたたかい鍵盤、ブラシのドラム、やさしいグルーヴ。ホストは引き続きまめで、世界中からの「おはよう」も変わらず届いています。
